What is a form filler?

How does it work?

If you are using the form filling feature for the first time, click the “Setup Form Filling” button on the RoboForm toolbar. From there, you’ll be able to enter your name, address, telephone, email, etc. into their corresponding fields. Once you click save, you won’t ever have to type that information in web forms again!

When you get to a page where you’d like to use the form filler, simply click the Identity button on the toolbar (it looks like an ID badge), and RoboForm will do the rest. It’s really that simple!

Using the Password Generator

The generated passwords are difficult to crack, but using this feature could not be any easier. Simply click on the “Generate” button and RoboForm will provide you with a strong and unique password. From there, you can use this password for a new login or to change a password for an existing login. You can even specify the number and types of characters for the generated password under “Advanced Settings”.

When you make the RoboForm Start Page the default home page of your browser, you can start every browsing session with easy access to your most frequently used Logins. Instead of navigating to your favorite websites by hand and then logging in using RoboForm, just click the box with the link to the website you want to visit. The page will open in your browser and RoboForm will log you in automatically. Your Logins are still securely encrypted on your computer, so you will be prompted to enter your Master Password if you have not done so already. With One-Click Logins and the Yahoo web search box, the RoboForm Start Page is the fastest way to begin all your web sessions.

How to set a New Tab to open the Start Page

On Internet Explorer:

1. Set start.roboform.com as your homepage
2. Click the gear icon in the top right, and go to Internet Options
3. Under General, Tabs, click on Settings
4. Set “When a new tab is opened, open” to “Your first homepage”
5. Press OK to apply the changes
6. You are done, your new tabs will now open start.roboform.com by default. You may close all the windows you have opened.

On Firefox:

1. Install the Custom New Tab Add-On
2. Using Firefox, navigate to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/custom-new-tab/
3. Click on Add to Firefox, click Install, when it’s finished installing click Restart Now
4. After Firefox restarts, in Firefox click on the Firefox button in the top-left
5. Click on Add-Ons, Extensions
6. Find Custom New Tab and click on its Options
7. In the window that pops up enter start.roboform.com into the field and click OK
8. You are done, your new tabs will now open start.roboform.com by default. You may close all the windows you have opened.

Advanced Firefox users, if you have the latest version of Firefox you can just navigate to about:config and modify browser.newtab.url setting to http://start.roboform.com
On Chrome:

1. Install the Replace New Tab Page Extension
2. In Chrome click here to navigate to the Replace New Tab Page Extension page
3. Click “Add to Chrome”
4. Once it’s finished installing, you may close the window
5. Click the wrench in the top right
6. Select Settings -> Extensions
7. Find the Replace New Tab Page Extension and click on its Options
8. Enter http://start.roboform.com into the field and click Save (Make sure you include the http://)
9. You are done, your new tabs will now open start.roboform.com by default. You may close all the windows you have opened.

How to change your browser’s home page:

If you do not want RoboForm as your start page, then you can simply change your start page anytime by following the instructions below.
Internet Explorer:

1. Left-click the gear icon in the top right corner of the Internet Explorer window and left-click “Internet Options”.
2. Change the default Home Page in the “General” tab by entering your preferred homepage URL or click “Use current” to set the currently displayed page as the new home page.
3. Left-click “OK”.

Firefox:

1. Left-click the Firefox button in the top left corner of the Firefox window and left-click “Options”.
2. Change the default Home Page in the “General” tab by selecting “Show my home page” from the drop-down menu in the “Startup” section, then enter your preferred homepage URL or click “Use Current Pages” to set the currently displayed page as the new home page.
3. Left-click “OK”.

Google Chrome:

1. Left-click the wrench icon in the top right corner of the Google Chrome window and left-click “Settings”.
2. Change the default Home Page in the “Basics” tab by selecting the radio button next to “Open this page:” in the “Home Page” section, then enter your preferred homepage to set it as the new home page.
3. Close the tab showing the “Settings” page. Your settings will save automatically.

Executing Searches

Search Box is located next to the Logins button. It is used for finding Logins, Identities and Safenotes and for searching on the web.

• Type in a word or sentence in the search box and a small menu window will display your search options.
• Click on any of the search options listed in the dropdown box.You can:
  1. Select a Login whose name contains a string that you typed. RoboForm will login to the selected Passcard.
  2. Search typed words in Yahoo, Google or any other search engine.
  3. Search for specific information in RoboForm Logins, Identities and Safenotes.

*If you hit ENTER after typing in your search, RoboForm will use the first search option to execute your command.
